The Traffic Signal Operations Specialist™ (TSOS) certification program is designed for candidates who have a wide range of education and experience with traffic signals, including engineers and technicians/technologists. You must meet each of the following requirements to receive TSOS certification.

1. A minimum of five years of related experience. Education is equivalent to experience based on a two, three or four year program or TSOS relevant education or training. A maximum of four years of education may be applied to the experience requirement. At least one year of experience shall be in traffic signal operations; and
2. Successfully complete the TSOS 100 questions examination by attainment of a passing score.
