Exam Format and Content
The exam is a 3 hour session.
The TSOS certification examination will include an assessment of knowledge in the areas of:

- Signal phasing and geometrics

- Pavement markings and signing

- Signal head, cabinet and pole placement
- Temporary traffic control and equipment switch over
- Initial turn-on and timing adjustments
Domain III: Signal Timing
- Clearance intervals
- Isolated signal timing
- Coordinated signal timing
- Data collection procedures
- Performance measures
- Software and analysis
- Field implementation

Domain IV: Signal Operations and Safety Reviews
- Safety audit
- Scheduled field reviews
