The exam is a 3 hour session.

Domain II: Elements of Signal Design and Implementation

1. Signal phasing and geometrics
2. Preemption and priority
3. Pavement markings and signing
4. Detectors 
5. Signal head, cabinet and pole placement
6. Temporary traffic control and equipment switch over
7. Initial turn-on and timing adjustments

Domain III: Signal Timing

1. Clearance intervals
2. Isolated signal timing
3. Coordinated signal timing
4. Data collection procedures
5. Performance measures
6. Software and analysis
7. Field implementation
8. Systems control 
9. Documentation

Domain IV: Signal Operations and Safety Reviews

1. Safety audit
2. Scheduled field reviews 
3. Receipt of and response to public inquiries
